WHAT IS C.A.R.E.S?
The C.A.R.E.S Ministry is a resource geared toward defending the Christian Worldview. The word "apologetics" is derived from Greek meaning "a speech in defense, or answer given in reply." As applied to Christianity, we respond with evidence and logical reasoning utilizing historical, archaeological, scientific, logical, and scriptural responses to those who question Christianity.
WHY IS IT NEEDED?
In today's society, there is a battle of ideas raging all around us. Many of these ideas are like viruses that are eroding confidence in Christianity. Recent studies have shown that 70% of church-attending high school students no longer attend church after graduating from College and Universities. A central reason for this is that the values they grew up with are under attack by a secular world that has convinced them that Christianity is anti-intellectual and unscientific and that there is no ultimate truth.
The "new atheists" have launched an aggressive attack and have written best-selling books with the goal, in their own words, "of converting readers to atheism". In addition, to this naturalistic worldview, there are numerous cults continuing to proclaim "another gospel" and attempting to undermine Christian doctrine and the person of Jesus Christ.
